The London PE and School Sport Network, part of Bacon’s College, has now been established across Southwark since September 2011. Our mission is to inspire a generation to choose physical education and sport for life and we achieve this through developing, delivering and leading high quality projects and programmes across the Borough. As an organisation we are committed to enhancing the physical education and sport experience for all young people. We are a not for profit organisation that has evolved through the merger of two school sport partnerships.

Our Team

The London PE and School Sports Network core team are all education and sport development professionals, with a combined forty years’ experience in working to a high level within this field. We pride ourselves in delivering a bespoke service to meet the needs of individual schools, and we fundamentally subscribe to a partnership approach in all of our work.

High quality PE support based on the needs of your school

Using the Youth Sport Trust Quality Mark tool, we will help you to self review the effectiveness of PE and Sport in your school alongside the Ofsted criteria. From this we can agree on the most appropriate interventions to meet the whole school needs. We have formed partnerships with leading educational organisations such as the Youth Sport Trust, London South Bank University, and Create Development to ensure you receive high quality support and a range of assessment and baseline measures to monitor impact. We also are the leading organisation in Southwark developing leadership and volunteering, we passionately believe in providing opportunities for all children to develop important life skills that enhance their learning and development.

High quality sports coaching and competitions

The London PE and School Sport Network administers the London Youth Games / School Games programme in addition to a wide range of additional competitions and leagues. This comprehensive competition calendar is designed to encourage schools to actively participate in a wide range of inclusive events. High quality coaching can be sourced for most sports using only recommended providers who have been rigorously quality assured by the Network team.

Health based opportunities for young people

We are the Central London lead agency for Health and Wellbeing programmes and work in partnership with Lambeth and Southwark Health and Well Being Board on delivering bespoke interventions for our primary schools. In addition to this we also deliver national programmes such as Change for Life.

Brokering partnerships

We are excellent at working in partnership and as a Network we are well positioned to ensure that these positive and powerful partnerships act as a leaver to impact upon the improvement of PE and School Sport. We work closely with public, private and third sector organisations. We are experienced in accessing funding through our bid-writing pedigree and have strong relationships with the corporate sector.
