Governors & Trustees

When Bacon's opened in 1991, the College was established through a partnership between Government, Faith and Charitable sponsors. These included:

  • The Southwark Diocesan Board of Education
  • The Philip & Pauline Harris Charitable Trust
  • London Docklands Development Corporation
  • The Department for Education & Skills

Our Chairman of Trustee's is Canon David Peacock. He has been the Chairman of the Trustees of Bacon’s College since it opened in 1991. However, his involvement with the College predates this, supporting the development of the College through the search for a new site and status for the former Bacon’s VA School. His vision, determination, integrity and humour have been a source of inspiration to the College at each successive stage of its development.

Our Chairman of Governors is Eugene O’Keeffe, a senior partner of a City firm of solicitors. He was a member of the original project team for the building of the new Bacon’s College. He took over from Lord Harris as Chairman of Governors in May 1993. Since then, he and his fellow Governors have provided invaluable and dynamic service to Bacon’s and its students.
