A place to grow

Annual Charity Appeal

As a college with a Christian ethos, we believe that it’s our duty and responsibility to have compassion and kindness for others. As such, every year we use the time of reflection in Advent to look beyond ourselves and raise money for those less fortunate.

In 2017 we chose to raise funds for those who were hit by hurricanes Irma and Maria. We are partnering with the British Red Cross in their efforts to support those on islands such as Puerto Rico, Dominica and the British Virgin Islands.

In 2018 we came together to support the Robes Project who provide shelter across Southwark and Lambeth for people who find themselves homeless. Alongside the usual events, the Sixth Form Leadership Team took part in the Robes SleepOut at Southwark Cathedral to raise money for Robes.

Bacon’s students are ask for donations on food stalls, run sporting competitions and having a Mufti Day during the appeal. In addition, many of our tutor groups are care packages to help support the charities.

If we benefit from Bacon’s being a place to grow, we can help others do the same.

In 2019 we will come together again to support the Robes Project.

This will begin with our 6th form leadership team joining the SleepOut on Friday 29th November at Southwark Cathedral. This is a moment when our students try to step into the shoes of someone who is homeless…and empathise with the struggle and difficulty and reality of what that is like for so many people!

We would love everyone of you to support them – please go to the Just Giving page below and donate what you can – every single penny counts.
