Members of the Student Council helped to raise £478 for The Felix Project this week by selling their homemade soups and ciabatta at Borough Market, helping to provide 2,868 meals for people in need.
Working with School Food Matters, the students spent a day learning how to bake fresh bread and make healthy soups, before setting up stall at Borough Market to sell their wares along with students from The Charter School in East Dulwich, Lillian Baylis College, and St Gabriel’s College in Lambeth. On the day they were even joined by the Mayor of Southwark who got to try a few samples of home made bread.
Projects like this teach our young people really essential life skills about how to make healthy food, and compassion is one of Bacon's core values, so it's been a fantastic opportunity all the students involved. Thanks to everyone involved, especially Ms Ley for all her time and organisation.
