Applying to our Sixth Form

Our aspiration for every student when they join us in year 7 is that they stay with us through to year 13, but we also welcome students from all over Southwark, Lewisham, Lambeth and the surrounding boroughs to our Sixth Form.

The academic demands at Sixth Form level are rigorous, therefore entry to our Sixth Form is subject to having achieved the minimum entry requirements and an academic reference.

All our Sixth Form students are expected set an example for the rest of the college, and any offers made are conditional on students demonstrating the behaviour expected of prospective Sixth Form students.

External Students

Applications for external students should be made via this form

Late applications will be accepted but priority on courses and in sixth form will be given to on time applications.

Internal Students

A member of the Sixth form team will meet with every internal student (and their parents) that is likely to achieve the minimum requirements for the sixth form. These meetings will take place in early 2025, with all eligible students being invited to a meeting by April 2025. Any year 11 student who has met the entry requirements for their subjects and has displayed good behaviour during year 11 will have a place available to them in the sixth form, regardless of when their interview occurs.

You will be contacted with more details of your child’s meeting closer to the time of the meeting.

If you are concerned whether your child is currently displaying behaviour that would make them appropriate for the sixth form please discuss this with their head of year. As an indication 3s on a report could indicate they will fail to meet our expectations for transitioning to the Sixth Form.

Minimum Entry Requirements

The academic demands at Sixth Form level are rigorous, therefore entry to our Sixth Form is subject to having achieved the minimum entry requirements and an academic reference.

  • We require students to achieve at least five Grade 5s including Mathematics and English Language as a standard entry requirement.

  • You will be expected to achieve a minimum of a Grade 6 or 7 in the subjects you wish to study for A-Levels or Grade 5s for vocational subjects.

  • All our Sixth Form students are expected to set an example for the rest of the college, and any offers made are conditional on students demonstrating the behaviour expected of prospective Sixth Form students.

Please note that, as some subjects are offered for the first time at A-Level, the entry requirements may focus on grades in facilitating subjects, usually Maths, English Language or a Science. Please see full entry requirements on our Course Guide page here.

Any students wishing to attend either the Wildcats Volleyball programme or the Millwall programme must be accepted in to both the sports programme and the Sixth Form separately. Admittance in to one does not confirm admittance in to the other. Students should liaise with both the Sixth Form admittance team and sports programmes independently.

Please refer carefully to the entry requirements for each subject which can be found on our Digital Course Guide here.
