Supporting students with Special Educational Needs & Disability
Bacon’s College is a Church of England community and as such believes that all members of its community are to be respected as individuals of equal value and invaluable worth. The values and ethos of the College are central to our Special Education Needs and Disabilities Policy.
We aim to provide an inclusive, stimulating, and safe environment which will enhance the learning of all students and help them achieve their full potential. We work to prepare students for the successful next phase of their education, employment, or training. We aim to raise the aspirations and expectations of all students, especially those with SEND.
We believe that...
Every teacher is responsible and accountable for the progress and development of all students in their class even where students access additional support from learning support assistants or specialist staff.
Teaching and supporting students with SEND is a whole College responsibility requiring a whole school response. In order to achieve this, we will work in partnership with parents/carers, students, local authorities, specialist providers and other external agencies to meet the individual needs of our students.
