Examination Results 2023

As GCSE qualifications are awarded across the country, students and staff at Bacon’s College are once again celebrating a strong set of exam results.

With this year’s exams the first to return to pre-pandemic arrangements, the school’s Year 11s have secured some excellent individual performances. This includes:

  • Li Anh, who achieved four grade 9s and five grade 8s;

  • Vinh, who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s and a Distinction*;

  • Derick, who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s and a grade 6;

  • Riham, who achieved three grade 9s, five grade 8s and two grade 7s;

  • Brooke, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s and four grade 7s;

  • Amira, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and three grade 6s;

  • Nahim, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s, a grade 6 and a Distinction*.

Almost all of these students will now be returning to the school’s Sixth Form for their A Level studies this September. The Sixth Form enjoyed its own success last week, with two impressive Sixth Formers securing their places at the University of Oxford, and many others achieving the grades needed to win spots at prestigious Russell Group universities. 30% of all A level entries at the school were awarded the top grades of A* or A.

Top Performing A Level & BTEC Students 2023

  • Danielle, who achieved an A* and two As, secured a place at the University of Oxford to read English Language and Literature.
  • Finn, the Head Boy, with straight As, will study Geography at St Catherine’s College, Oxford.
  • Tommy, off to King’s College London for Computer Science with straight As in three subjects.
  • Naomi showcased brilliance with A*s in two subjects and an A in Philosophy.
  • Joshua, has secured a competitive apprenticeship at Queen Mary University of London with straight As.
  • Anisa is set to study Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London.
  • Jenny and Aaron, both of whom are attending top London universities.
  • Ola and Adam, going to the University of Nottingham and the University of Greenwich respectively for their undergraduate courses.

Beyond this, students’ achievements across the Sixth Form have opened doors to a wide variety of university and training courses. This ranges from environmental science and midwifery to nuclear engineering and music.

Our trajectory of excellence in performance at GCSE and A Level continues with impressive outcomes in 2022.

  • Bacon’s College Sixth Form students have outdone themselves, securing places at top Russell Group universities, including the University of Oxford.

  • For A Levels, 30% resulted in A* or A grades.

  • 83% of BTEC and CTEC courses led to Distinction or Distinction*.

Danielle Agiri achieved an A* and two As, earning her a spot at the University of Oxford to read English Language and Literature.

Head Boy, Finn Ashworth, with his straight As, will be joining the University of Oxford to study Geography.
