Bacon's College in Rotherhithe is thrilled to announce the exceptional GCSE results achieved by our Year 11 students this year. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance have culminated in some truly remarkable outcomes, making today a day of celebration for the entire school community.
This year, nearly three-quarters of our Year 11 students (72%) achieved at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths, reflecting a strong foundation in these critical subjects. Furthermore, more than half (56%) of our students attained a grade 5 or above, underscoring their commitment to academic excellence. Impressively, nearly a fifth of our students (18%) earned a grade 7 or higher in English and Maths, demonstrating high levels of achievement.
In addition to these collective successes, we would like to highlight the exceptional accomplishments of several individual students:
- Afnan: Nine grade 9s, one grade 8, and one grade 7.
- Rasha: Eight grade 9s, two grade 8s, and a grade 7.
- Sarah: Eight grade 9s, two grade 8s, and a Level 2 Distinction.
- Joel: Seven grade 9s, three grade 8s, and a Level 2 Distinction.
- Kenny: Seven grade 9s, two grade 8s, and two grade 7s.
- Yonatan: Five grade 9s, two grade 8s, and two grade 7s.
- Hannah: Four grade 9s, four grade 8s, and two grade 7s.
- Lukas: Four grade 9s, three grade 8s, one grade 7, and a Level 2 Distinction.
These outstanding results reflect our students' dedication, their families' support, and our teaching staff's commitment. We are particularly proud of those who have chosen to continue their academic journey with us by joining our Sixth Form. This decision follows the recent successes of our Sixth Form students, many of whom have secured places at top universities, including a place to study Medicine at King’s College London and another to study Chemistry at University College London.
James Wilson, Principal of Bacon’s College, commented on the achievements: “We are very proud of the hard work, determination, and character displayed by this group of Year 11 students, and pleased that this has resulted in some excellent outcomes for them. It has been brilliant to see so many students celebrating and looking ahead with excitement and confidence to the next stages of their school careers. It is particularly gratifying that so many of them are choosing to return to our Sixth Form to continue their studies at A Level. We look forward to welcoming them back very soon and congratulate each of them as they celebrate today.”
As we look forward to the new academic year, we are excited to build on these successes and continue to support our students in achieving their full potential.
Congratulations to all our students on their achievements!
