On July 2nd, 2024, Bacon's College Year 12 Business & Economics students embarked on an educational visit to the Bank of England Museum, an institution that showcases the pivotal role of business and economics in the Western world.
The trip offered our students a deeper insight into the functions of the Bank of England and its crucial role in supporting and managing the UK economy. Through a combination of audiovisual presentations and written displays, students traced the history of the Bank, marvelling at the evolution of money and banking practices over time.
Students displayed great enthusiasm, engaging in a range of activities that brought their classroom learning to life. They tried their hand at managing the UK's inflation rate and even competed to lift a real gold bar weighing 13kg. Their insightful questions and keen interest highlighted their growing knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.
The visit was a resounding success, with students expressing their excitement about the hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to see the real-world applications of their studies. The day in the city not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also provided a memorable and enriching experience.
