The Sixth Form at Bacon’s is successful, ambitious and inclusive, and an excellent place for students to study and progress.
Bacon’s College is a unique place to learn and grow, characterised by a strong ethos of caring and support and a focus on enabling students to realise their ambitions. The rigorous and caring support we give to each student is reflected in their academic success.
In 2019 Year 13 students achieved excellent outcomes in their A level results, showing a significant improvement on the previous year.
45% of all A Level grades were at A*-B and 71.9% at A*-C.
Our vocational pathway students also performed particularly well with 92.5% of all results at Distinction or Distinction*
We encourage all our students to adopt a proactive approach to their learning, whilst always being aware of the significance of the moral and spiritual dimensions of our lives. We offer significant super-curricular opportunities for our students helping them to develop a passion for learning and their subject that will extend beyond the classroom and establish a rich set of experiences that prepare students for life after Bacon’s. There is an embedded culture of aspiration and challenge, reflected in the high proportion of our students who progress to higher education. A significant proportion of our students secure places at university each year, with approximately a third regularly going on to study at Russell Group universities.
One of our core strengths is the positive relationships formed between staff and students, established through mutual respect and common goals. To support your development, we offer a range of extra-curricular opportunities to help develop your skills or interests, making you more appealing to potential employers or higher education institutions. You may decide to become a Reading Buddy for a Year 7 student, a Coach Bright mentor for Year 9 or become part of our award-winning Mediation Team. Joining our Sixth Form offers you a varied and challenging two years, academically and personally.
We sincerely hope that the majority of our internal year 11 students choose to stay with us for years 12 and 13, however we also welcome applications from external students.
