Another fantastic year of top grades for Bacon's College students in 2025

Over 1/4 of all A Level grades gained A* - A in 2025, whilst more than half of our Year 11s (53%) achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and mathematics this year.

A-Level & BTEC Results 2025

Over 1/4 of all A Level grades A* - A in 2025!

This year, around a quarter (26%) of all A Level entries at the school were awarded the top grades of A* or A, with nearly two thirds (63%) graded at A* to B. This included some particularly stand-out performances in STEM-related subjects, enabling a number of students to secure exceptional university courses in top STEM fields.

Results for vocational equivalent courses followed a similar trend, with almost a quarter (73%) of BTEC entries achieving the highest possible grades of Distinction or Distinction* and 100% achieving at least a Merit. 

2025 sees more top A Level grades.

Many Sixth Formers have been celebrating their own particular successes and securing their places at university and for further study. This includes:

  • Nahim, who achieved an A* in Maths and As in Further Maths and Physics and will be taking up a place at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to study Mathematics with Data Science;
  • MJ, who achieved As in Maths and Chemistry as well as a B in Physics and will be heading to King’s College London to study Biomedical Engineering;
  • Miranda, who achieved A*s in Italian and Art, Craft and Design, as well as a B in Economics and will be taking up a place at University College London (UCL) to study Italian and Management;
  • Romoy, who achieved Distinction* in all subjects and has secured a place at the University of Greenwich to study Accounting and Finance;
  • Li Anh, who will be taking up a place at the University of Sheffield to study Architecture after achieving an A* in Graphics, an A in Maths and a B in Biology;

Another successful set of GCSE results saw over 50% gain 5+ in English and mathematics in 2025

Over half of the year group (53%) achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and mathematics this year.

Around a fifth (19%) achieved a grade 7 or above in the two subjects.

Top Performing GCSE Students 2025

A large number of students celebrated their own particularly impressive performances – with a raft of the top grade 9s secured, including 

  • Kavya, who achieved an exceptional nine grade 9s;
  •  Mariya, who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and two grade 7s; 
  • Amelia, who achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one Level 2 Distinction;
  • Edison, who achieved six grade 9s, one grade 8 and three grade 7s;
  • Abdul Majeed, who achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 6;
  • May, who achieved five grade 9s and five grade 8s; 
  • Alex, who achieved four grade 9s, four grade 8s and three grade 7s; 
  • Hamza, who achieved one grade 9s, seven grade 8s and two grade 7s.
  • Kelly, who achieved two grade 9s and eight grade 8s;
  • Mohamad M, who achieved three grade 9s, four grade 8s and three grade 7s.

As GCSE qualifications are awarded across the country, students and staff at Bacon’s College are once again celebrating a strong set of exam results.

In addition to these collective successes, we would like to highlight the exceptional accomplishments of several individual students:

  • Sarah: Eight grade 9s, two grade 8s, and a Level 2 Distinction.

  • Habibat achieved an A* and two As and will head to University College London to study Chemistry.
  • Jody will attend King’s College London to study Medicine after earning two As and a B.
  • Ella achieved DD* and will join St George’s, University of London to study Paramedic Science.
  • Mohammad secured three As and two Bs and will study Civil Engineering at University College London.
  • Adebusola will study Psychology and Languages Science at UCL after achieving two As and a B.
  • Akif is set to study Mathematics with Statistics at King’s College London after earning two As and a B.
  • Kacper will pursue Biomedical Sciences at the University of Southampton with two As and a B.
  • Jeta is heading to Queen Mary University of London to study Psychology for a Year Abroad after achieving two As and a B.

Beyond this, students’ achievements across the Sixth Form have opened doors to a wide variety of university and training courses. This ranges from environmental science and midwifery to nuclear engineering and music.

Our trajectory of excellence in performance at GCSE and A Level continues with impressive outcomes in 2022.

  • Bacon's College Year 11 students have held strong results in the first formal exams since 2019.
  • 82% of Year 11 students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Maths
  • 64% achieved grade 5 or above in English and Maths
  • Bacon’s College Sixth Form students have outdone themselves, securing places at top Russell Group universities, including the University of Oxford.
  • For A Levels, 30% resulted in A* or A grades.
  • 83% of BTEC and CTEC courses led to Distinction or Distinction*.
