The responsibilities that come with this role include:

Meetings consist of developing ideas and proposals that for events, that can be put forward to SLT and hopefully be put into motion to raise funds for our chosen charities or initiatives. Examples of different events that have been actioned in the past include:

They also have the opportunity to help with existing projects throughout the year.variety of different capacities from the planning through to the implementation of the event.

Student Matters Committee

The role of the Student Matters Committee is to improve and develop the different opportunities for pupils at Bacon’s College. They are responsible for identifying how pupils feel about school life. A pupil’s survey to discover way in which we can improve areas of school life and developing the current rewards programme to tailor it to what motivates pupils the most.

It is important that the student voice is heard and that as a school we offer the best and most exciting opportunities for the pupils who are recognised for their positive contribution towards lessons and general school life. This is why it is important to gauge the feeling of the student body and develop the rewards programme so that there is a high level of competition to make it into the top 70 pupils in each year group.

School Site Committee

The role of the School Site Committee is to maintain and develop the school site including outdoor areas, corridors, and classrooms. They are responsible for the development of the outdoor areas and proposing changes to the current provision.

They are also responsible for the way as a school we currently dispose of rubbish and researching way into which we can become an eco-friendlier school. We made fantastic step last year with our reusable and sustainable bottles, however we also want to make our school site an eco-friendlier area.

Teaching and Learning Committee

The role of theTeaching and Learning Committee is to gauge how pupils feel about the opportunities they receive to continue their learning outside of lesson time. They are tasked with developing opportunities for pupils to in subject areas to develop their knowledge and learning outside of the classroom.

This may include looking at the extra curricular provision available to pupils to continue their learning outside of the classroom, different competitions that pupils can take part in to broaden their learning and develop a healthy level of competition between pupils and forming councils that can have a direct impact in the different curriculum areas around the school.
