GCSE 2019 Celebrations

Today, students from Bacon’s College are celebrating another year of strong GCSE results.

These showed that 68% of students achieved five or more good passes (grade 4 or above) including English and maths – an increase on last year and well above the national average.

The College also achieved very well on the government’s Basics measure, which outlines the percentage of students achieving a good pass in both English and maths. 72% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both subjects and 49% of students achieved a grade 5 or above in both.

Strong progress was also made in terms of the percentage of students gaining the highest grades of 7 or above in both English and maths. This year 14% of students at Bacon’s College attained these top grades – an eight percentage point increase from last year.
